My family decided to spend our Good Friday eating out. It's been such a struggle to look for a restaurant to go to because of the holidays, but thankfully we found this restaurant in BGC.
I have known this cafe for years now, and back then they only had one branch which is in Quezon City. We specifically chose to have our dinner here because it's not located in the center of High Street where most of the people are, plus they have a lot of food and coffee to choose from.
Kimchi Fried Rice with Maple Bacon Slab ₱320
Their kimchi fried rice with maple bacon slab, although not my favorite out of everything we ordered, was delicious. The rice had just the right amount of spice, and paired well with the sweet and salty bacon slabs, which were juicy and tender.
Breakfast Steak Skillet ₱490
The steak was seasoned perfectly and cooked according to our liking. It was the dish that I expected much from (well, because it's steak), but surprised us least.
2pcs Buttermilk Chicken with Ube Waffles ₱450
You can never go wrong with chicken and waffles. Their buttermilk fried chicken was textbook! It had the perfect color, taste, and was even incredibly juicy. Also adding just a bit of uniqueness to this simple dish is their ube-flavored waffles, which you should at least try even as a side order if you ever find yourself at this cafe.
TFS Porkchop ₱500
This TFS porkchop is a signature dish for a reason! The huge cut of porkchop, though thick, sure was tender and easy to cut. That, together with the creamy mustard gravy, home-made miso, and rice made the entire dish hard to resist!
Sausage Platter ₱400
Mushroom Adlai Risotto ₱400
I had just one bite of the mushroom adlai risotto, but it was enough for me to taste all of its components. The truffle, the cream, all of it was incorporated so well in the dish. I doubt I can finish one order, though. It seems sooo heavy.
Coffee Cube ₱170
The whole family was happy with our dinner. We avoided the crowd at High Street, the long wait at other restaurants, and at the same time we all came home feeling full and satisfied. The service here was quick and efficient, and the ambiance is nice (I kept saying how perfect the lighting was LOL). Food are reasonably priced considering the serving size, taste, and that it is located in BGC. Overall, it was a very wise decision for us to try it out.
