Lido Cocina Tsina was established in the heart of Chinatown back in 1963. What started as a small, startup eatery has now grown into a well-loved Chinese restaurant serving traditional Chinese cuisine in over 10 branches in Metro Manila. Not only can you drop by to enjoy your favorites, now you can have them delivered straight to your homes! Let's check some of them out, shall we?
Pugon-Roasted Asado P436
Let's start with a no-brainer, Lido's cream of the crop, what they are most famous for: their Pugon-Roasted Asado. My friends and I even went to Binondo on a food crawl a few years back to try this, but failed to do so since it was unavailable then. It's definitely unique and different from the typical, sweet-glazed asado we normally have in Chinese restaurants. This one had a smoky, more savory flavor that will easily make you grab an extra cup of white rice.
Buttered Chicken P348
I was excited to try their buttered chicken since I really love this dish. It's a dish that I can easily judge as a miss or hit, and this was a miss for me. The 'buttered' component of the dish was definitely missing. It might as well be passed off as an ordinary fried chicken that I learned to like with the sweet and sour sauce. But I'm still willing to give it another chance and try it again next time, since I'm hoping that there's something more to their buttered chicken other than the batch I got to try.
Beef Broccoli P364
The beef broccoli is a dish we never fail to order when we're eating at a Chinese restaurant since it's my brother's favorite. And Lido's version of the dish, I can say, was worth the price. It was saucy and delicious good, plus they did not hold back on the amount of broccoli florets and beef strips.
Drunken Lechon Macau P436
I loved their drunken lechon Macau! There's nothing else I need to say about it. It's tender and flavorful, and since we had it delivered, we just popped it in the oven toaster for a few minutes to get that skin nice and crispy. I just wonder if they really serve a sweet and sour sauce to go with this instead of a vinegar dip, as it will definitely go better with the latter.
Last but not the least, the dish that we almost did not order but thank goodness that we did, Lido's Shrimp Balls. My dihia is a big fan of shrimp balls. He kept saying how he missed having it at our favorite Chinese restaurants, which is why we decided to order it. Good thing I was able to get a piece, because my brother decided to hoard all of it! It's a dish that will automatically be part of my cart on my next order.
From breakfast to dinner, there is a definitely a dish that will satisfy your cravings for Chinese cuisine, as you may notice from Lido's extensive menu. You may check it out and order your food for delivery at https://www.lidodelivery.com/!
