Classic Singaporean Cuisine at Tiong Bahru in Pasay City
Pasay City is quickly becoming a haven for food lovers in search for new restaurants to try. With the opening of several new malls in the area, choosing a place to have lunch at has never been easier. Let me walk you through one of the newest restaurant find in Met Live Mall.
Tiong Bahru is a restaurant offering authentic hawker food in Met Live Mall. It's a name that started in Singapore's Tiong Bahru Market, where it gained a lot of loyal patrons and earned the Michlein Bib Gourmand Award from 2017 to 2019.
Hainanese Chicken Rice (Single) P220
Tiong Bahru is known for their Hainanese Chicken Rice, so I made sure I got to try one. The serving does not look like much, but it sure was filling. The chicken was soft although did not have the strong taste I was hoping for, and the rice made up for. These, together with the combination of soya and ginger sauce, made one affordably delicious lunch.
Each meal also comes with a soup which looks familiar but tastes way off.
Kikiam P120
The kikiam was my favorite! I was so glad that I ordered one. The skin was crispy, but the inside was soft, flavorful, and packs a bit of a punch. It goes well with their sweet chilli sauce.
Curry Noodles P180
My friends had the curry noodles which looked really appetizing. I will definitely come back to give this a try and update this blog soon after :)
