Seafood is one thing my family loves to indulge in on special occasions, but not without all the hassle. It takes us so much time just to get to the seaside area, park our car, go to the market for our seafood, have it cooked, and then eat. Not only that, but our biggest problem is agreeing on how we would like each item to be cooked, since we all have our own favorites, and the cooking charge is always by the kilo.
If you can relate to all this trouble, then you'd be happy to know that there now exists a paluto-all-you-can here in Metro Manila!
Isla Sugbu Seafood City is not just another one of your buffet restaurants. This restaurant from Cebu offers all the seafood you want cooked just the way you like it for a fixed price (starting at P848 per person)
Go nuts and "shop" for whatever you like, in whatever quantity you want them! You'll then inform the staff on how you want them cooked.

If you're feeling overwhelmed or confused, fear not as they have a menu to guide you on the different cooks and sauces available per seafood item. And if this does not help, you can always ask the friendly staff for a recommendation. They are a huge help, trust me!
These are all the sugbu specials we tried, but my ultimate favorite would have to be the steamed pompano with tausi. This dish took me by surprise as it looked nothing out of the ordinary, but tasted unexpectedly great! It's a must-try! And of course, what's a seafood dinner without the classic salmon sinigang to warm us up? I loved every sip of the soup! The salted egg shrimps also would've been perfect if the sauce wasn't a little too thick.

PREMIUM ITEMS
We also got to try some of Isla Sugbu's premium seafood, which are not part of the paluto-all-you-can and entails additional charges. It's my first time to try sea mantis, and having it cooked salt and pepper style was a good fit for this kind of seafood. The Singaporean mud crab is a dish that's not new to me, although I've forgotten what a tasty, messy dish this is! But the the star of my night from all these premium items was the lobster thermidor. If you're feeling a little extra, make sure you get the lobster thermidor. You won't regret it, I swear!
NON-SEAFOOD
Isla Sugbu also has non-seafood items included in their paluto-all-you-can just to cleanse your palate from all the seafood you've been having. They also have different kinds of rice you can order to go with everything.
Make sure you get the best out of your visit by pairing your favorite seafood with wine! It's a must that you get their white wine, as it pairs so perfectly with seafood! We all loved it!
The Paluto-All-You-Can is priced at P848 for Mondays to Thursdays lunch, and P888 for weekday dinner, weekends, and holidays.
They also charge P1,450 for leftover fee, so make sure you order only what you can finish.
I honestly didn't expect that there's so much more for me to enjoy than my regular, tried and tested seafood favorites, and Isla Sugbu introduced me to all sorts of seafood and cooking suggestions I have not tried before. It's a great place to visit if you're into seafood, even if you're not dining in a huge group!
