Enjoy Italian Food at This Homey Restaurant in Kapitolyo

Don't you just love eating out with your friends and family, especially during weekends and holidays? It's the perfect way to destress and at the same time catch up and have a little bonding moment. But we have to admit, we all got bills to pay, and so we tend to have difficulties looking for a place to eat, if we decide not to have lunch or dinner at home.

Turns out, we are not alone in this struggle, as this is exactly the situation the founders of Pomodoro Pizza & Pasta Kitchen found themselves in when they decided to put up their humble pizza place.

Pomodoro Pizza is a local Italian restaurant chain founded by two professionals who were faced with the challenge of eating out on a budget on a petsa de peligro. The small restaurant is all about serving delicious Italian food without having to pay a fortune.

Sirachamansi Wings P219 (1/2 pound)
We started our exciting afternoon meal with the sirachamansi wings. I did not really get the perfect blend of sriracha and mansi, which was a bummer since it seemed like a good combination in my head. But if you are into spicy wings, then these wings might just be your go-to starter.

Specialle dela Casa P279
One thing you should know about Pomodoro's pizzas is that their pizza crusts are thick and soft, more like a bread, which is how one of the owners like it.

The specialle dela casa pizza is Pomodoro's specialty pizza. It's red sauce topped with ham, bacon, olives, bellpeppers, and onions. It's ironically a pizza with basic and common toppings, but it's also one with all sorts of flavors.

Pizza Bianca P259
If there's a pizza for kids, this would definitely be it, except that it's a slightly more sophisticated version because of the truffle. It's best for kids or kids-at-heart because it's basically just a creamy pizza with mushrooms, but it is heavy and a bit tiring to the tastebuds so better make sure you eat it with something else that's not cream-based.

Quattro Formaggi P279
A trip to an Italian restaurant won't be the same without CHEESE! I mean, it's not exactly pure cheese but hey, who wouldn't want a pizza with mozzarella, cheddar, romano, and parmesan? Well, I won't say no to that! I'd gladly take one quattro formaggi pizza home, please!

Lasagna P159
Their lasagna didn't really work for me since I found its taste to be a bit odd. It's not "bad" odd, it's just "not my type" odd. What I look for in a lasagna is either one with a strong tomato taste or one that is a bit creamy/ cheesy. This one, on the other hand, was sweet, which I was not a fan of.

Salted Egg Pasta P149
Okay, this was supposed to be my first time to try a salted egg pasta, so I was so intrigued and excited because I liked salted egg in general. One bite and I was both happy and disappointed at the same time with this pasta. Why? Because I didn't get to taste the salted egg in it. It tasted a lot like a carbonara, a version that I liked, and that made me happy.

Pesto Con Pollo P149
We were briefed that the pesto con pollo is one of the owner's favorites, and that it is a must-try! We were expecting a really good pesto pasta with strong flavors and aroma coming from the basil leaves. It was okay, except that it was a bit dry.

Brazo Cupcake P149 (3pcs)
Make sure to leave room for dessert! If you're too full to have one, then take one home! There is no good enough excuse for not getting an order of their brazo cupcake! It's soft and moist and the best part was it's not a super sweet dessert. LOVED IT.
