Kamameshi Town Honten in Greenhills
It's been years since I've been in Greenhills, and I was just so surprised to see how much it has changed since the last time I was there, including this restaurant just across Promenade.
Kamameshi Town Honten is a new Japanese restaurant in Greenhills. It's a huge establishment with simple wooden doors and windows on the outside, and filled with lanterns and Japanese paintings on the inside.

I was really craving for a beef over rice dish, so I went on to try one of their signature dishes - the kamameshi, which in Japanese means "kettle rice". It's rice cooked in a kettle, and topped with beef and mushroom. They also come in other meats like chicken, but I was craving for beef so I went with the gyu kind. A serving of this is really heavy since it's almost entirely rice. What I liked about it is the subtle but flavorful taste of their sauce, although the kind of meat used wasn't what I expected.

Our visit at Kamameshi Town Honten was just like our experience at any other Japanese restaurant, except that Kamameshi Town Honten did so much better in terms of service. Their wait staff deserves all the applause for doing a great job.
