Before Korean barbeque restaurants pop out of every corner of the streets, and even before the samgyupsal became a craze, there's this simple, charcoal-grill restaurant offering unlimited items buffet style.
I have been eyeing on Charaptor even before Korean barbeque restaurants offering unlimited samgyupsal became so popular. It's actually one of the reasons why I had it bookmarked, but I haven't had the chance to tick it off, until last Friday night.
To be honest, it wasn't that I didn't have the opportunity to try it. I've just been having second thoughts. I had this impression that the food here is mediocre - not sure where that came from, but that's the truth. Sooo... How was it?
First, the place is really spacious. It's just perfect for your get togethers, may it be a birthday party or a reunion.

Second, I didn't know that Charaptor offers more than just meats for grilling. They also have hot and ready-to-eat dishes available, a salad bar, sushi bar, and a make-your-own pasta station.
I got to try their mashed potatoes, mac and cheese, sisig, kare-kare, tempura, and tonktasu, and everything tasted surprisingly good.

Fourth, when you feel thirsty from all the eating, Charaptor has a variety of drinks you can choose from.
Lastly, after you have finished trying all the food, there's a dessert bar waiting for your sweet tooth. They have few desserts that don't look like much, plus two ice cream flavors, and marshmallows and wafer sticks. I would've been happier if there were more dessert choices, though.
Overall, my experience was better than expected, but the pricing (at least for me), is a bit too much. I think it's less competitive considering these Korean restaurants these days offer unlimited BBQ at a cheaper price.
