Griddle Steak & Wings at Maginhawa

Griddle Steak & Wings has been on my Maginhawa to-try list since it opened primarily because of their interestingly affordable steak offerings, aside from the fact that this is apparently a travel-themed little restaurant. 





So when my friends and I decided to do a Maginhawa food crawl, Griddle Steak & Wings immediately made it as one of our stops. We ordered the original steak (P185) and a plate of their honey bagoong wings.

The original steak is their best-seller. It comes with rice, gravy, and your choice of sides (fries or corn and carrots). I have to admit, the steak was huge and tender, although its taste wasn't as great as I imagined. The taste of a spice (I'm guessing cumin?) was very profound, and it's not really how I like my steak to taste. The gravy also tasted good, although an excessive amount of butter was used.

The honey bagoong wings might have taken me awhile to appreciate, but I did. It's got an interesting play in flavors, with the salty and tangy bagoong and the sweet honey. It's not comparable to your favorite wings, though. It's good, but it's not something I will crave for.
