It has been two years since my last visit to a Tong Yang branch, and that was the one in Megamall. I couldn't really remember much from that visit. I most likely didn't have a wonderful time, because if I did, I would definitely recall how it went and would have had a second or third visit by now.
Last November 25, I was able to have my second visit at Tong Yang for a Christmas party celebration with my fellow Zomato reviewers. The place isn't as huge as other buffet restaurants these days, but we were still able to have tables close to each other (thanks to the organizers for the reservation!) :)

There are 3 soups available for the hot pot: clear chicken, sinigang, and spicy sate. I started going to hot pot restaurants because of the sate soup, which is also my main criteria in deciding whether or not I liked the restaurant or if there'll be a next visit.
There are a lot of meats and vegetables available for either the hot pot or grill. They also offer crabs upon request.
Like what I do at any other unlimited hot pot or grill restaurants, I helped myself to tons of sliced beef that I cooked on both the pot and the grill. Here's a tip that I got from a friend: the beef is best when dipped in the sate sauce before grilling, for you to get a juicier meat. The sate soup tasted bland at first, but after adding more sate sauce, I ended up liking it.
There are also hot dishes available on their buffet table. These are typical buffet items such as rice, siopao, siomai, tempura, sushi, and the likes. They also have ice cream, mini cakes, and a make your own halo-halo station for dessert.
I had a fun time with the zomato reviewers team. With the good food and great company, this is definitely an experience I'll never forget. I finally have a memory to remember and cherish with Tong Yang. I'll be back.
