I've only been to one food park since it became a hit in the recent years. I find it hard to visit food parks since their operating hours doesn't jive with my pigging mood (which is usually lunch time), and a bit inaccessible due to parking concerns. However, the very main reason why I stopped wanting to go to food parks doesn't have anything to do with all of these, but rather their value for money.
I've heard people complain about the unsavory taste of food at food parks, and to make matters worse, these food cost just a little lower than the food at some restaurants. But since I consider myself a foodie, I have to either prove or disprove this only by trying them out. So here goes my visit to Arkipelago.
Arkipelago (2nd Floor) |
Arkipelago is not just a food park. Its name actually means art, eat, play, and go, the pillars that make Arkipelago an ultimate destination for people of all ages and interests.
Mano at Makina |
Mano at Makina is an art gallery that features art done by hand and by machine. It is in this room that you will find all sorts of art, be it in photography, cartography, or painting.
Black Sheep Project |
The Black Sheep Project is the hub for sneakerheads. This store sells limited edition shoes, and shoes that are only released in Japan.
If you're into all sorts of games, then the Game Detective is the place for you. The Game Detective is where you can find rare board and card games, including the newest Filipino-inspired card game Darna. Owners Mark and Martin have several of their games available for you to try, and they'd be more than willing to walk you through the game.
Upper Ground is a retail store selling anything and everything anyone might want or need. Cosmetics, accessories, stationary, and organic soaps are just a few of the products they have on their shelves.
And of course, Arkipelago won't be as exciting as it is without its many many food offerings.
HALAL KABAB EXPRESS
Chelo Kababab |
Chicken Biryani |
GOLDEN ESTERO
Burgers |
DESSERTS IN PROGRESS
Popo's Favorite Milkshake |
QRAZY QUESADILLA
We also had some quesadilla from Qrazy Quesadilla, which didn't look like much (that's why I wasn't able to get a picture), but tasted AWESOME!
Arkipelago also hosts live performances at night, on their mini stage, in the middle of the dining area at the ground floor.
If you're looking for a place to reconnect with your best buds, then this is the venue for you. Not only will you love browsing the retail stores, galleries, and games here, but you will also enjoy the food choices they have in store for you.
