Accidentally in Love: Fireside by Kettle
My boyfriend and I were supposed to go to a popular sushi place around BGC for the first time, only to arrive at the restaurant with a long queue. I was so hungry. I was feeling dizzy. I was about to unleash the monster in me. I couldn't wait any longer, so we went to another restaurant nearby, Fireside by Kettle.
We were warmly welcomed by their staff as we were led to our seats. We let our eyes wonder around the place as we patiently waited for our food. My personal favorite about its ambiance, aside from its colorful theme, is the lantern shaped lightings.
My boyfriend's salad came first. My buttermilk fried chicken took longer to be served, around 15 minutes after.
Greens, Zucchini, Broccoli, Cauliflower, Kale, Pineapple, Bellpeppers, Apple, Egg, Corn, Roasted Chicken, Feta, Honey Lemon Dressing.
This is probably the most vibrant salad I've ever seen. Judging from the description in the menu, it's no wonder that this salad would be a stand out, mostly because of how its diverse and complete set of ingredients made one delicious and healthy meal. Their honey lemon dressing also helped add color to make this salad come to life and be something other than just plain greens.
Buttermilk Fried Chicken Fingers P549 |
24 hour brined, Cajun Ritz breading, cajun honey, gravy, cornbread doughnuts
You might think that the price of this dish is too much, but wait 'til you see it in person. I'm telling you this now so you don't get the same shocked face that I had as I saw the server approach our table carrying this monstrous plate. There were about 8 huge pieces of fried chicken (I refuse to call it a chicken finger because of its size xD) plus 6 pieces of cornbread doughnuts, gravy, and honey on the side. I initially felt full even just on my first piece of chicken, but I realized that I just found it too flavorful especially with the gravy. So, I ordered a cup of rice and finished another 3 pieces. What I loved about this more than the chicken is their cornbread doughnut. It's more of a moist, corn muffin, coated with a sweet sugary breading before frying to a golden brown color. It was heavenly.
Fireside by Kettle's food is what I'm certainly most happy about this visit because of how huge and delicious they were. Other than that, I can say that the restaurant was able to deliver in all the key aspects I'm concerned about: food, service, ambiance, and overall value for money.
My Score:
Pricing - 4/5
Ambiance - 4/5
Service - 4/5
Taste - 4/5
