A Glimpse of Yesterday: Sulyap Gallery and Cafe
My boyfriend's family invited me to go on a roadtrip to Laguna, so a day before, we were already researching on where to eat, and this was my first discovery.
We didn't really have any agreement that we will be having lunch at Sulyap Cafe, but when it was nearing 12nn, my boyfriend's dad asked us to look for a restaurant nearby, and to my surprise, this cafe was the closest along the way.
We were stunned with its beautiful, garden set-up, and the rustic, old-fashioned houses all over the land. We sat down and ordered the following:
1. Ensaladang Pako P195
2. Ensaladang Dilis P
3. Kare-kareng oxtail P520
4. Kulawong Puso ng Saging P340
5. Boneless Bangus Belly P370
6. Banana Con hielo P95
7. Halo-Halo P130
8. Torrones Con Sorbetes P95
Sorry for not having photos of each item, but everything was hella delicious! The ensaladang pako is definitely a must-try. The food here are reasonably priced and proportionate to the serving size. Usually restaurants that have insanely gorgeous ambiances jack up their prices, but not here.
Sulyap also has a museum that is free of charge. It showcases a lot of antique items, from furniture to appliances. It's also worth a peek.
Lastly, Sulyap is also a hotel. So if you feel like having a staycation away from the stress of the metro, then I highly suggest that you consider this. It's a really nice place to get some fresh air and just relax.
Sulyap Gallery and Cafe not offers you services like food, but they also give you a glimpse of yesterday.
