Bewitching 'Wich: 8 Cuts Burger Blends

About a week or two prior to our visit to 8 cuts, my officemate has been talking non-stop about this limited-offer collaboration sandwich of Ooma and 8 Cuts, and how insanely delicious it is.

Days passed and he still can't stop speaking about it, until we planned on taking our intern out for lunch and decided it's time to put this sandwich to the test.

We walked in at 8 Cuts and all of us knew what to order. No hesitations. No second thoughts. We also ordered a bucket of onion rings for us to share.

Huge and thick cut, deep-fried onion rings coated with some barbeque powder. What I liked about their onion rings was that although it was a bit thicker than what I can usually tolerate, it didn't taste too pungent (as what an almost raw onion would taste like). The barbeque powder was a great addition to the usual onion rings. It didn't take the spotlight away from the onion rings itself, but it instead added flavor to ensure that each bite isn't gonna be the last one.

Soft-Shell Crab 'Wich P299
In between two brioche buns of this sandwich lies a beer battered soft-shell crab with unagi sauce, mango salsa, aligue mayo, herb aioli, aligue mayo, crisped up salmon skin, and some mozzarella. I found this sandwich to be rather sweet and a little tangy, with a hint of cilantro in the after taste to contradict all the sweetness of the mango salsa. I would have liked this better though if the taste of the soft-shell crab was more prominent than this. Nonetheless, I have nothing but praises for the makers of this divine masterpiece.

The server who attended to our table that time did one hell of a job! Kudos! He knew what we needed when we needed them. We didn't need to ask him for anything.

Serving size for the sandwich wasn't really that big, but it sure was satisfying enough to have me full 'til dinner time.

Offers like this during the lent season are an opportunity for every restaurant to show customers why they deserve a visit, and 8 Cuts and Ooma did a pretty good job in coming up with a sandwich that will prove that.
