St. Marc Cafe

I’ve tried St. Marc Café in SM Megamall early last year just for their cone dessert, which I found okay.
Last January 21, I met with my sister at Greenbelt at 5:30pm before we split up for my dinner with my high school batchmates at 8pm. After some window shopping, the time read 7pm and I was starving! I can’t wait for dinner! My sister and I decided to have a quick and light snack at St. Marc café.
Initially, we picked up a piece of their signature chococro, and a piece of their bacon and cheese pastry and headed to the counter to pay. That’s when I saw a small poster of their burgers and drooled. I told my sister: “This looks good, let’s order one!” and my sister, who always supports me and my food addiction, agreed to this.

This was surprisingly smaller than what I expected. I expected it to be as long as a croissant, but it was shorter than that. Thankfully, it tasted good. The amount of chocolate was just right. It was also melted a bit, and I think that made it taste better.

I loved this! The combination of the cheese and the bacon made my eyes widen. It was delicious and flavorful. The oozing cheese didn’t taste like an ordinary cheese. I surely didn’t expect a lot from this pastry.

Just like their pastry, I also didn’t think that I’d like their burger, especially because I don’t usually get impressed with the food at cafes, but it was surely worth the try. The burger had a deep-fried menchi katsu with some sauce, topped with generous amounts of shredded cabbage between two sesame buns, and a side of addicting, crispy fries. This burger isn’t something that you’d crave for, or something that is extraordinary, but it’s not bad either.
In the end I was once again made to realize that a restaurant might not meet a person’s expectations at all times. Some will make you vow never to return again, but sometimes, giving a restaurant a chance to redemption results into one meaningful experience. No regrets here! Yay!
