Tsokolateria
45 Aguinaldo Highway, Silang Crossing East, Tagaytay City

It was Bonifacio Day, and we were at Tagaytay, stopping by restaurants in the area one after the other, and Tsokolateria was one of those many stops.
It's my first time to visit this restaurant, and if I wasn't on a food crawl, I would probably be lost, because this place is inside a hotel/ bed and breakfast.
We walked up the stairs on a black carpet, and were welcomed with a beautiful lobby area. The furnitures near the entrance are just WOW. Mala-Mano po.
As you walk to the veranda, you'll be even more mesmerized by the canopy sofas and the view.
Guys, this place is named "Tsokolateria" for a reason, and the reason is because everything in the menu contains chocolate. We ordered the Tablea Champorado and the homemade crispy bacon tsoko.
Tablea Champorado (Front, Left) P250
Mountain rice cooked in rich native tablea, served with adobo flakes, chicharon and crispy fish chips. This one's food for sharing. For us, I think there were 4 of us who shared the dish, having a bowl each. Their champorado wasn't sweet and wasn't too bitter either, which is why I loved pairing it with the salty, thin crispy fish chips.

Homemade Crispy Bacon Tsoko P260
Crispy pork cooked like lechon kawali and cut into not-so-thin bacon strips, with tablea syrup on the side. The bacon alone was so good. You'd think that it'd go best with vinegar, but it kinda depends. We asked for vinegar to pair this bad boy with, but we later found the chocolate better partnered with the bacon than the vinegar. I do believe that only certain mixes of vinegar (with salt and pepper, etc.) will beat their tablea syrup as a dip.

Their service was also okay, but that ambiance is sure worth mentioning. I wonder how wonderful the experience would be if you were out there on sunset. Maybe I should come back to find out for myself.

My score:
Pricing – 3/5
Service – 3/5
 Ambiance – 5/5
Taste – 4/5
