Butamaru
Westgate Center, Alabang, Muntinlupa City

I have a confession to make... I am a ramen addict. It's one dish I almost always crave for. To me, there is no such thing as a ramen weather. I eat ramen whether it be a sunny or rainy season.
I have lots of ramen places bookmarked for me to try out, and I still can't believe I'm not finished with it yet. Maybe it's also because of how fast ramen chains multiply these days.
Even though I'm from the South, I don't frequent the Alabang area because of how much toll fees cost me. But today, I just figured I needed to tick this off my list. And so Butamaru, here I come!
It was roughly 12nn when we arrived the Westgate Center. We went around looking for parking areas only to find out that we were supposed to park at the edges of the road. Good thing there was one near the restaurant (this is near Neil's Kitchen).
We got inside the restaurant and it was quite empty. There were only 2 people by the ramen bar. We decided to sit somewhere near the window for us to have a good source of natural light perfect for our photos.

I was so sure on what to order that I didn't bother to check on the menu. We ordered the Shio Ramen and Ramen Salad.
Shio Ramen P310

Not the best I've had in terms of broth, since it lacked richness. But what I discovered when I got home devastated me: you can request for a richer broth. That's what happens when you don't read the menu thoroughly. The noodles were a bit thicker than what I prefer but it was cooked well so it's okay. The ramen was topped with large pieces of chashu. These were so tender and flavorful. I think even those without teeth can eat a meat this soft. They made a pretty good job with the sweet and smoky flavor of their pork.

Ramen Salad P280
Noodles and vegetables tossed in black sesame dressing. It also had some tamago on top. This one is a classic. Their sesame dressing is delicious. Who could say no to some veggies with this one?

Service was fast. Our food were served in just 10 minutes. The ambiance of the place is quite nice. It's brighter than the other ramen joints I've been to. They also have more seats that are not the bar area type upstairs. The price and size of the ramen is more or less the same compared to their competitors.
I will definitely come back to try the richer version of their Shio and their other best seller: the shoyu.

My score:
Pricing – 4/5
Service – 4/5
 Ambiance – 4/5

     Taste – 4/5
